This leg moves from Okinawa City to the northern coast and finally across the water to Izena Island; a mix of outdoor adventure, local food and experiences built around the people who live there.

Into the Wild North

Head into northern Okinawa for a day that shifts from forest to coast.

Walk through subtropical greenery to a secluded waterfall, enjoy lunch beside the water, then continue by bicycle through quiet streets and along the coastline.

Finish the day at a glamping site with an outdoor BBQ and a night surrounded by nature.

Cross to Izena Island

Take the ferry to one of Okinawa’s quieter outer islands.

Izena offers a slower, more local side of island life, with open sea, uncrowded roads and small communities far removed from the main tourist centres.

Spend the afternoon on the water with a local fishing charter and enjoy the feeling of being somewhere genuinely off the usual route.
